THE RISE OF DENTAL SPAS

Even if you do not suffer from dental anxiety or pain, routine visits to the dentist are often inconvenient and annoying.  Fortunately there are now places that can make dental treatments enjoyable and something to look forward to.

Dental spas are becoming an increasingly popular commodity among those who seek out the convenience of saving time as well as participating in a luxury experience.  Dental spas offer common dental treatments along with the services that a typical day spa provides.  Supervised by a licensed dentist and depending on the expertise of the spa’s practicing dentists, the dental treatments offered range from a simple teeth cleaning to a complete smile makeover.  Spa treatments vary among different locations, but common services include facial and skin care, nail care, massages, and hair care.

Dental spas are most common for cosmetic dentistry.  Since cosmetic dentists focus on services that improve the appearance of teeth and boost a patient’s confidence, spa treatments are a logical partner.  Dental spas are recognized by the International Medical Spa Association and the Day Spa Association, and the American Dental Association has spoken out in support of the facilities.  The more common that dental spas become, the more patients will utilize them for both dental and personal care.
