The Cost of Porcelain Veneers

We’ve said it here before and we’ll likely say it again.  The cost of any kind of cosmetic dentistry varies based on a variety of factors not the least of which is training and experience.  Other factors include demographics and the cost of doing business in a given area.  So it’s a hard question to give a bottom line answer to.

Its also not something you can shop for by calling.  You can call one local dentist after another and you’re likely to a range of prices from $500 to $1500 for each tooth.  It’s confusing and it doesn’t help you make a decision.

Here are some general things to consider when deciding who should do your dental work, especially porcelain veneers.  How much study has your doctor done?  Dental schools teach the basics but post graduate work can give you lasting natural results with the latest technologies.  What was the last time he or she took a class in veneers?

Look at his patient’s before and after work.  Does it look great and natural, like she was born with them?  How many patients have they provided dental veneers for?  Experience can make the difference.

Are you confident that your dentist cares about the end result and that you are in the right place?  If you feel any doubt, ask questions.  You are making an investment in your smile, the first thing anyone will see.  You have the right and obligation to be sure you invest wisely.  Be sure what you are asking for when you want the cost of porcelain veneers.
