Being in the dental field, people are always asking me for help in their search for dentist.  It always goes the same way.  “I have new insurance.  Here is the list.  Do you know any of these guys?”  Let me first say I am honored to be asked.  Now let me take you through the process.

First, why are you letting your insurance company pick your healthcare provider?  Aren’t they in business to make money?  Can they do that if they have to pay for your care?  It follows that they will stick to the agreement to pay for a certain level of care…is that what you want?  That level of care?

Sometimes the answer is yes and that’s okay.  In this economic environment just keeping your head above water is all many can hope for.  So for them, I’ll look at the names and share what I know.  Mostly I don’t know those guys.

You see in dentistry, especially cosmetic dentistry, the cream rises to the top.  Those who provide extraordinary care don’t let the insurance companies tell them what they can earn for all their time, investment in equipment and training as well as the unprecedented skill.
