Enter into a search ‘dentists’ and you’re likely to be overwhelmed with the possibilities.  Dentistry isn’t what it used to be.  We used to open the yellow pages or see a sign on the side of the road, call and make an appointment.  Now there is a plethora of options that include specialists and then you throw in issues like location and insurance and practice focus and you’ve got to dig deeper to get the dentist that right for you.

 

Dentists used to attend the 7 years required for the licensure and then the few additional hours of continuing education required by the state dental boards.  A couple of decades ago, however, dentists starting discovering new and better ways to do things.  More research and more materials were coming onto the horizon every few months.  Suddenly, dentists were attending continuing education in droves.  There are dentists who spend hundreds of hours every year in continuing education trying to keep current and stay up-to-date so their patients get the best treatments possible.

 

So if you search ‘dentists’ you may want to narrow the field a bit.  Search for a local dentist whose practice focuses on the care you want.  Then start reading websites to find out who is staying current has the most to offer.
