How to Find a Good Dentist

This blog has talked frequently about how to find a good dentist on the internet.  Not all practitioners are created equal. When it comes to cosmetic dentistry, many may profess to be experts in cosmetic dental procedures and have received little if any training. Mastering the constantly evolving esthetic dentistry techniques requires a substantial commitment of time to advanced training on a yearly basis.

A growing number of dentists from around the world are attending the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).  These professionals are participating in extensive postgraduate training in the latest advances in aesthetic reconstructive dentistry—including teeth whitening, porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers, fixing gaps between teeth, gum recontouring, teeth repositioning, cosmetic bonding, and smile rejuvenation. Many LVI-trained dentists have dedicated more than 200 hours to continuing education.

At LVI, dentists are trained not only in cosmetic and aesthetic procedures, but to also approach their patients as a service business catering to your individual needs.  You can feel comfortable asking your LVI trained dentist questions about the various techniques they’ll be using, and you may even be able to preview your new-and-improved smile via temporary prosthetics or implants. Above all, you should feel that you have the dentist’s undivided attention for the duration of your visit, and that they realize that your time is as valuable as their own.

The bottom line is you need to ask more questions.  Ask your dentist about his/her post graduate training in cosmetic dentistry.
